About a year ago, one of my closest friends was having her 3rd baby, but it was her first boy. She wanted a simple crib quilt that could grow with her son to his toddler years, but didn't want it to be "girly". I get it. I have 3 boys of my own and some quilts can get get too "girly" if you aren't careful with pattern and fabric selection.
So, I suggested a solid colored classic. She had neutral colors in mind (whites, greys, navys, etc) but wanted a little pop of color.
This is how one of my favorite ( and simply SO easy) quilts came about.
The Gingham Quilt.
This quilt is quick and easy and perfect for beginners.
For the quilt top I used Bella Solids Bleached White by Moda, Bella Solids Zen Grey by Moda, and Solid Nocturnal from the Arizona Collection by April Rhodes for Art Gallery.
The backing was the same solid navy, but could be any fun print you decide. The binding gave the quilt a pop of colorful fun. I used Solid Honey from the Arizona Collection by April Rhodes for Art Gallery.
This quilt can be made to order, any size! Just message me for details if you are interested and we can work something out. And pair it with a coordinating crib sheet to complete the bed set.
